I made a custom config tool that allows fullscreen 16:9 and more [DL included]

Hi there, I recently bought this game in the sales and was very annoyed that the included config tool doesnt even work. So I decided to make my own.

It can do everything the original config tool was supposed to do and a few extra things such as:

Fullscreen 16:9 so the game actually fills the whole screen (no crappy borders).
Japanese language option.
Start game from the config tool.

You can replace SEGA's tool located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sonic Adventure DX\config.exe and this can then open with steam rather than the old one.

You dont have to do this but it makes things easier in future.

Anyway enjoy and this just goes to show how lazy SEGA really is. I made a working config tool in under an hour and they still havent fixed theirs over a year later. Its really silly that the community has to fix stuff like this.

Anyway at least now we can enjoy a great game! :)

Are you sure you have the steam version, i've heard your bug only happens in the pc version of 2004. This tool is working perfectly trust me.

I tried to replace it and it just ended up crashing every time, after some tinkering on that it then would look like it was opening but it never did. But going into to task manager I saw it being processed so I don't know what goofed up in it. I'm going to re-download the game from scratch and try your config tool one more time and if it doesn't work I guess I have to use the vanilla version. :(

Hm thats strange. You dont have to overwrite the old config tool. You can save mine anywhere and launch the game with the button in the tool. Does it give you any error messages? Its hard to tell what the problem is with what you just said, its very vauge.

Hey Balloon, remember me? Yeah, I just got SADX from a friend, and I've been checking your configuration tool once again. I replace the tool with the one on the game folder then launch it normally through Steam? And does it support any widescreen resolution higher than 1280x780? Or rather... Would the Stretch to Fill option not let it blurry or glitchy or anything for 1366x768? :I
Oh, and other miscellaneous question... Launching it through your config tool will launch it with the Steam Overlay or something?

I am using this config with the Steam Installation, and I cannot get the controller config to save. I know the controller codes, but everytime I input the codes, save, then boot the game (or the config again) the controls do not save. Otherwise, this is pretty awesome. I also do not think any other settings are saving (video settings were defualt to what I wanted... audio settings will default back to 80 everytime I take them to 100, etc.)

I had to fix my registry while using the previous config launcher, as Steam does not add in the string value it needs to recognize that the config is in fact installed.

+1 on the direct link for the download. the link in the original post takes me to adfly site and a download for some program containing malicious software called Open Download Manager???

Anybody who is having trouble with the adfly link just wait 3 seconds until you see the "skip" button at the top right of the screen and click that, the config.zip file should then download. Hope this helps!
