How can you tell if your Chao has become adult?
I never saw it go into a cocoon but when I'm in the chao selection screen for races, I hover over it and it says "RunType" instead of "Child." Does this mean it is no longer a child and became adult, or does this mean it is currently on the 'run' path and will be fully a 'run' type when it does change to adult?

I'm wanting it to get a grade up in Run but I don't know if it evolved too early. I was giving it only swim and fly animals for most of its life, then just now started switching over to run. I noticed it started growing the spikey things on its head, but I never saw it make the cocoon. But maybe it happened while I was playing with another chao.

I noticed another chao is getting a different shape but it still just says "Child" on the race select screen. So it makes me think that simple the shape is not enough to determine if the chao is old enough. Also, the chao that still says "Child" is the first chao I ever got, and the chao that says 'Run Type' is a fairly new chao (the solid black chao you can get in the Egg Carrier). So I think it would be weird if this chao evolved first.

RunType does mean that it went into a cocoon already. You can see pictures of evolved Chao here: http://chao.hippotank.com/sadx/first-evolution

Remember that Chao don't age if they're in a different garden than you, so that might be why an a Chao that was born more recently can still become adult first.

Ah, thanks, that must be it. The chao that went to adult I always move to the garden I'm playing with, bu the other one I keep in the Station Square garden and only visit it sometimes. So since it says RunType, that means that it got a boosted grade in Run, correct?

I'm pretty new to chao so sorry if these are dumb questions :P I have been looking at some chao guides but it is very overwhelming at first because there are so many factors and so many are hidden.
