Is it just me or are levels in sonic adventure longer than sonic cd? I'd have to play more 3d sonic but I think they made 3d levels longer than 2d game levels.
Except you have those time-freeze switches, which stop the enemies and obstacles, plus the stage timer. So that's something.
And if you have Knuckles's air necklace, then his part becomes really easy.
Why would they make them shorter? Generally games get longer as time goes by and the series continues.
Actually, they do stop the stage's mission timer.
I just did Cannon's Core's 2nd Mission (collect 100 rings), and even had Tails stand on the switch, holding it down, for over two minutes. And yet I still got an A-rank on the mission.
(The stage's clock froze with everything else when the switch was active. Despite Tails standing on the switch for over two minutes, he still finished his section in 47 seconds, according to the timer. Eggman got the last few rings, and I finished the stage at 2:20, getting an A-rank. (even though in reality I'd played the stage for nearly 4 minutes))
