Amy Rose's Flashback Problem

I'm at Amy's flashback, and I can't find Tikal. I'm literally right on the point on the map were it says the shrine to Knuckles's race is, and I can't see her anywhere.

Turn around where you spawn and theres a door behind you that takes you to the master emerald if I remember correctly, this is not a well comunicated event... Especially since the door looks closed.

I’ve played this game a million times as a kid and still had to google this just now lol
