How on Earth do you do this? I've been trying to do this since the dawn of time and I STILL can't do it :S

I speed through the level like a Lunatic but the fastest I can manage is 2:19 give or take.

Spindash jumps can net you some massive shortcuts in the right places.

I've done it around that time, basically just try to spindash to skip alot of parts

Spindash jumping, go onto a slope (for example the first bridge with the monkey, spindash, and jump when you hit max speed, you can get very far with that, now use that to get a few shortcuts
You can also use spindash to get on top of the giant mountain after the whale section

Another good shortcut is in the second levelpart, remember that jump over a "river" and the running up a giant way? Try spindash jumping there, spindash up the giant slope and turn to the right, you can make it a later point of the level there

That should be enough for your under 2 min vhellenge

Back when I played this game on the Dreamcast the quickest way was to spindash jump and abuse a couple of shortcuts.

I think there is a very detailed YouTube video of the speedrun that gives a general idea how to pull it off.

Funny thing is I just tried running through the stage without taking a single shortcut, even deliberately using the longest paths every possible chance, and finished in 1:39. (1:37 second attempt)
