How do you spin dash jump?

I've wanted to do this for ages, but never manage to get it!

Charge up a spin dash (hold down the action button, then quickly release), then almost immediately jump afterwards. If timed properly, you should be able to jump much further than you normally could which is handy for skipping certain sections of levels.
