The game doesn't save! Unplayable!
Please help me with this, because my nerves are on the verge of breakdown.

Everytime I progress a little, if I exit to the main menu, it shows the percentage of my progress. However, if I exit the game, the save file completely vanishes into thin air. What do I have to do? Please help.

I'm playing this game since it was released on Dreamcast. I love this game. Why is it so bad here on Steam? Was a little optimization so difficult? Are they so lazy?

Have you tried the SADX Mod Installer? Since it converts your game to the disc version, which was an entirely different port with different save path and format, it sounds likely that it would fix the issue. Plus it fixes tons of unacceptable defects with the Steam version.

Yes, yes, soon after I posted here, I discovered this amazing mod and installed it. Excellent work!
I should note, though - for anyone that might be seeing this and has the same problem - that when I tried to run the game with the mod, it instantly crashed, before even the game opened. I solved that by righ-clicking on sonic.exe and going to Properties > Compatibility > "Change high DPI settings" and checking "Override high DPI scaling behavior".

This is a very dumb fix, but if you are playing the game using Steam you need to go into your SAVEDATA folder here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sonic Adventure DX

.....and freaking delete it. What is happening is the game is trying to load save data from Steam (which there is none) instead of the Mod Loader (which is actually saving things properly). Useless freaking folder.

FYI, you will need the SADX Modloader available on Gamebanana for this.

you're a lifesaver man
Figured out just today that windows defender might be blocking the creation of the save files lmao. Might wanna check that and allow it to apply changes to the documents folder.

The saves should be normally located here: Documents\SEGA\Sonic Adventure DX\SAVEDATA
