Can't modify PS4 button controls. Did anyone else have this issue?
Playing the standard Steam version. I can edit the keyboard controls but not the PS4 ones. Curious if anyone had that issue and what they did to fix it if they did. I can play with the standard controls, but L1 and L2 for L1 and R1 is really confusing and hard to get used to.

I'd feel bad for anyone playing the standard Steam version without mods. Even if you really like the DX look of the game, you should grab the Mods Installer anyway if only to add lighting back to the game, being able to play widescreen, and having a complete Chao mode.

One of the mods included is the input mod which brings back the full analog movement range of the game from the consoles (the default PC one is more limited) and gives you the normal control mapping.

I know people keep on saying that but I decided to do the first run without any mods. I don't even know what the Chao mode is since I never played the game until now.

This might not be the only fix for you, but it's one I know so here goes:

While the controller is connected, right click on the game and choose Manage > Controller configuration.

There's no such option, weirdly enough. Might just try to get that mod. Thanks for the tip. There being fewer movement range options got me thinking.

One question. In case you know. Do I need to start on a new save file for the mod to work without issues?

The option missing could be because you need to enable PlayStation configuration support in the general controllers settings.

No, your save will be converted.
