Will I lose out on a "True Ending" or anything by not getting all the side stories?
Got 5/6 but this fishing business is just so horrendous...

You will not get to the Super Sonic story which contains the ending of the story as a whole. In short not completing a characters story means no access to a True Ending.

Ah well... thanks!

Big's story is 30 minutes long.

Just finished it. Took me closer to an hour....

If you get every single Emblem next, you can unlock Metal Sonic. I have not done that yet but I plan to. The hardest for me of them was Egg Carrier 2 and I never got that or the 5 Chao ones. I had to switch computers and this game does not have Steam Cloud Sync. Anyway, Metal Sonic is just a Go Fast Character in this game and is not worth playing as unless you want the Metal Sonic Achievements, which there are 2, one for unlocking, and one for all of Metal's A Ranks.

I beat the Super Sonic boss fight, and that's more than enough for me with this game. I'd rather give up gaming for a few years than spend that time working on those Emblems. Thanks to all the BetterSADX folks for letting me play 1080p!

If you enjoy the Sonic, Knuckles and Gamma levels, Adventure 2 only has these. Both games are pretty good, and have aged fairly well for games released at that time.

I did like the Sonic, Tails (well could've done without the racing Sonic aspect), Knuckles and Gamma levels - for the most part. Is the camera any better in SA 2? It's cost me quite a few lives here. I would've used Free Camera instead of Auto, but some joker thought that reversing up/down and left/right with no option to remap was a funny prank.

The camera is controlled by L and R buttons, while the C Stick is just for first person. It generally works better, but I’ve never really had any problems that I can remember. The only problems with Adventure 2 on Steam is that they increased the music during cutscenes compared to the original version

One other thing, 2 is considerably more difficult. Characters can’t hang in the air like they can in this game. It’s much less floaty, but I actually prefer the heavier feel.

Personally, I always thought the fishing business was great. Maybe I'm just the sole opinion when I say that, but it's shameful that SEGA never tried anything like that in a Sonic game again, or hell, in any platformer released since.

I don’t like it, but it’s only 4 short levels. As long as you remember to press down when something starts biting, you’ll always hook the frog.
