SPIDERS WHYYYYY???
I built my tractor beam, hangar, depot, and even my ship assault on level -3 of my ship, behind a security gate down a very long corridor. Yet just a minute ago I find not one, or two, or even ten, but 15 corridor segments and my workshop on level 0 infested with spider eggs.
Even more confusing, level -1 and -2 were completely spotless, and so was the turbo lift on level 0. So somehow the spider eggs traveled down 20 segments of corridor and jumped 3 floors to land in my workshop which is down another corridor about 7 segments long.

I have two questions:
1.) What the hell is the point of security gates if spores can just jump past them?
2.) How do the spores actually travel?

I know that the little greenish clouds that spawn after an enemy dies (even humanoid aliens) will spawn alien eggs which, themselves, spawn more spores. I know that destroying the eggs, even when its just starting out as residue on the floor, has about a 90% chance of spawning another spore cloud. And I now know that the spores ignore security gates and even the turbolift itself.

Oh and every time a robot picks up or sets down a resource, there's a good chance it will spawn an alien which itself will spawn spores.

Spores can pass thru barriers, crew do not react to spores or infestation,
You need at least 3 corridor space to build a infestation defence structure... a form of poision to clear infestation.
Infestation can use elevators like a human/bot, straight up or down so its a weak point, make sure you have defences to stop stuff getting to the elevator.

At this stage its best to be at any area that can infest, You need to be at tractor beams, Hangar storage, refining, and storing of raw mats, also be there after a planet harvest if you or crew launch to gather stuff in the planet.

The crew will attack aliens, but not infestation, as a player you need to clean up infestation as they will make more aliens and spread... you need to clean this up fast.

You cant protect against infestation, guns or barriers wont stop this.

Yeah the crew will only attack infestations that are 50% grown only if they're level 3, and even then, only if they literally step on the nest.

Also like I said, I have all of my depot, tractor beam, and hangar at the end of a very long corridor.

I have a opinion piece about infestion mostly as to me thats the biggest issue, I like infestion but I do not enjoy babysitting crew members, it removes the point of having crew imo.

I do see you employed the various anti infestion stuff and it still jumps so it may be a bug ... as in I have the intended defence but it bugged out and bypassed my defence. That is a big bug as it ruins a players ability to use game mechanics to defend against game enemies.
A serious bug .

I think the issue is that the infestations spread spores too quickly. Like if the infestations could only spread once they reached 25% maturity or something, then maybe it would be manageable. But I've watched several spore clouds pop up from an infestation spot that I already destroyed before it even finished the goop part of the animation.

security gates stop aliens from passing thru, decontamination rooms stop spores (not the ones hidden in crates) from spreading, just surround all the hot spots with decontamination rooms and place commander crews in them and you should be 90% fine
