note: i did play the game on xbox one, but I don't think PC and Xbox games are any different.

Reduce crew? You may have to kill the crew that don't match the planet via killing the plants they need. you only need 1 workshop/ clone lab get rid of the obsolete level 1s. look at power wasters so you can build more crew cabins

Bump. I too would like this. It's possible to cheat more power by modifying active memory, but it's a bit unstable and definitely not the fun way to do it.
I hope the devs will add a setting in options to crank this limit up to 20 or so for more powerful systems.

The way to push past this is to choose a higher tier corporation. Which you can see the requirements to unlock each time you start a new game.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The energy limit is set by the developers in 300 units.

They give you 7 floor levels to build your ship on, but only give you enough Reactors to power one floor level... That makes no sense at all.

I really like this game, but this is the the first thing that's really caught me by surprise and left me thinking, wtf? A bad design choice for sure.

And adding workers to my Reactors made absolutely no difference to the amount of output I was getting. I don't know if that is just a bug in my game or not, but there was no increase at all.

I would definitely like to see an option to crank the number of reactors up too or a hack or cheat to correct this nonsense.

There is 7 reactors possible in the galaxy setup. I don't know if the mentioned 300 units of power is the limit with 7, I will have to see.

You don't need to fill out a floor to use it. I find sticking the tractor beam and hanger on a floor separate from everything else helps minimize alien incursions from those rooms.

I know, but my point is you can literally fill an entire floor and not use the other floors and still have enough ship to use 300 Energy. In fact it can even be done without using up a whole floor and still have space left.

There's no 300 pu limit, in my last game I got up to 408 pu with 7 staffed reactors, Unfortunately, I found no further gain possible then that, as more intelligent crew doen't increase the power gained. I was hoping for tier 2/3 reactors; but more power should not be nesessary; I had my ship build with 12 crew quarters, 4 greenhouses, 12 storage units and 8 depots, 2 refineries, tier 3 workshop and clone lab, med and alien labs and a tractor beam with decontermination all around it as a center connector and 3 hyperdrives. I had to restructure twice during the game, but it actually worked out quite well, and I was quite wasteful with corridors and access points.

That's good to know, thanks. Since starting new games since the tutorial Ive discovered the increased Reactor limit option and made it 7. Now I just have to play a game where I survive long enough to actually use that many lol. Those damn infestations have taken me by surprise twice now.

I have 7 reactors with a company
Jubblator Aug 19, 2021 @ 4:51pm
You adjust the amount of reactors max at the start of the game, when you create the galaxy (its in the settings there somewhere). I think 7 is max you can set tho.
