Greenhouse automatically growing plants over time?
I've seen some wierd behaviour in the Greenhouse in my current run and wanted to confirm something.
I had the first Greenhouse and started out with O2-breathing crew members. My greenhouse had 4 Ferns in their planters and one was still free. I did some harvesting, building and planning. Meanwhile after some few hours of traveling and seeking resources and collecting sites I noticed that my O2 count was at 10 instead of 8... spooky because I did certainly NOT plant another Fern into my last Greenhouse Planter.

Is this normal? Do plants automatically grow or better spread to other planters over a long time?

This is a new feature in the latest patch. When there are existing plants in the greenhouse, there is a small chance for new plants of the same type to sprout in an empty planter. The exact mechanics are a mystery (i.e. how often this can happen, how many times in a run it may happen, is there an interval before it can happen again, is the tier of the plants a factor, etc.) so all we can be sure of is that it CAN happen.

THANK YOU!
I thought I was insane, but I've noticed it in my first run. Thought it was a given and a friend who played the game since almost the initial release did not know about this.
So that is reassuring that my sanity is still on acceptable levels and that it actually can happen.
Thanks again for clarifying and confiriming.

What's a pain is when you know it can happen so you leave a spot open but you just dont now when it will happen.
