Good for you but a lot of people find it disorienting and just plain awkward. The running speed makes your character seem like they're sliding after an initial delay in movement. And it wouldn't hurt allowing you to actually crouch walk and not stand up every time you try to move while crouching. A toggleable walking state wouldn't hurt as well since it would help increase immersion and slow down the game pacing for those having trouble with its movement.
I understand what your getting at im just used to playing fast moving games. I prefer having a character that moves around fast as to one that feels like there moving at a slugs pace.
But yea a toggle option would probably benefit everyone. Have an option in the settings menu where you can set the style of movement you like.
At first I felt like they were trying to "emulate" actual motion? Maybe? It's something I've seen on 1or2 other FPS games before and it never works. IDK, all I know is I can't stand it and I will not be playing it until I get it fixed if I can hopefully find some tweak, it's just to irritating.
After hundreds of FPS games where walking/jogging speed is: X and run speed is X+(a bit faster) this game just doesn't feel good. I'm all about new things it's not that "this game isn't exactly like everything else whaaa!" It just isn't pleasant. It's annoying to point yourself at a terminal right next to you and right before you get to it you accelerate like a rail gun.
Or I'm loosing my mind but either way it's....off.
Couldn't agree more.
I reckon its some attempt to emulate the analogue system of a controller.
Feels awful.
