Improve the movement
Movement either feels like a slog or going too fast and you can't move while crouching or else your character will stand up again. Please optimize movement speed and add in a toggleable walking state as well.

I havn't had any trouble with the movement as for the crouching it's mainly meant to get into the underside of your ship not for combat. I understand the reason they have you move so fast could you imagine trying to move around on a planet or in your ship when it gets bigger?

Good for you but a lot of people find it disorienting and just plain awkward. The running speed makes your character seem like they're sliding after an initial delay in movement. And it wouldn't hurt allowing you to actually crouch walk and not stand up every time you try to move while crouching. A toggleable walking state wouldn't hurt as well since it would help increase immersion and slow down the game pacing for those having trouble with its movement.

I understand what your getting at im just used to playing fast moving games. I prefer having a character that moves around fast as to one that feels like there moving at a slugs pace.

But yea a toggle option would probably benefit everyone. Have an option in the settings menu where you can set the style of movement you like.

So I found a way for you to slow down your character I believe https://fearlessrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11723&p=123918#p123918

I fixed the way too fast movement by lowering the graphics settings, this also fixed the high mouse sensitivity. Just try it. Maybe it helps.

My graphics are already lowered, medium settings for all of it. I think the movement is intended to be like this.

Movement is way too wonky...speed is ok but even on lowest movement and mouse sensitivity still so fast I feel like a 56k hero....lag spawning every few feet and can't mouse look too fast or will spin out of control, npc clones move like c3p0 moonwalking forwards on crack...quite comical to see but surely it's not supposed to be that way lol...I'm guessing it's an optimization issue with lower end or less common graphics cards..i exceed the minimum requirements by quite a bit so I'm gonna send a dxdiag to them when I get home...hopefully they can optimise for my system...otherwise I like this game quite a bit

Just set your fps to a fixed value via the driver HQ.

My biggest problem is the WAY it moves more then the speed. It's like a weird ramp-up. Of course a lot of FPS games have the strafe speed that makes you move faster but this just, IDK. If I press just forward the character kinda starts out...then weeeerrrrrrrr boom I'm moving at high speed. before the run key even, and it's worse if a left/right direction is added which of course you will do a lot, it's part of movement after all and that makes it even weirder.

At first I felt like they were trying to "emulate" actual motion? Maybe? It's something I've seen on 1or2 other FPS games before and it never works. IDK, all I know is I can't stand it and I will not be playing it until I get it fixed if I can hopefully find some tweak, it's just to irritating.

After hundreds of FPS games where walking/jogging speed is: X and run speed is X+(a bit faster) this game just doesn't feel good. I'm all about new things it's not that "this game isn't exactly like everything else whaaa!" It just isn't pleasant. It's annoying to point yourself at a terminal right next to you and right before you get to it you accelerate like a rail gun.

Or I'm loosing my mind but either way it's....off.

Couldn't agree more.

I reckon its some attempt to emulate the analogue system of a controller.

Feels awful.
