Youtooz figurine thoughts thread
since for some reason they won't allow comments on the official post, here's a thread for it here, surely they won't mind, right?
IMO it's ugly as ♥♥♥♥, looks like a new generation of funko pops

Could be worse. Look more appealing than most Youtooz designs, and far better than funko pops. Still, I don't like merchandise companies that make a brand image out of making everything they do formulaic. Feels icky. Just make your merch look like something out of the source material, especially for statuettes and vinyl figures.

Besides that I just don't like their planned scarcity schtick. Makeship can get away with it cuz plushies are harder to manufacture than figures, and the properties they merchandise out are way too small to get any sort of mass production done with them. Not only are statuettes much easier to produce (they're just painted slabs of plastic), but they always gravitate towards larger properties with more established fanbases, making the scarcity feel even more arbitrary. Plus, at least Makeship gives creators the option to do repeat campaigns in the future if they so choose; Youtooz just washes their hands of the whole thing the moment the countdown reaches zero. Not cool.

That said I can't say I hold it against RWS. I'd probably sell out too. I imagine it's not much of a commitment for them and it's basically free money. I just wouldn't touch anything from youtooz with a hundred-foot pole.

The on-demand solution from Youtooz might not be ideal for those who need to wait to buy, but it's currently the one that works the best for us at the moment.

With the dolls, we found a good long term solution, so we can continue selling and restocking as needed. For the figurines, it was hard to find a good quality/price combo. We checked with multiple companies, some of the issues came to packaging or the quality of the figurines themselves, the pricing was also not ideal for large scale production in some cases (we'd be charging you ridiculous amounts just for a figurine that's decent).

It won't be the last time we do figurines, we'll always explore all options. Youtooz seems like a good partner to have again.

(second paragraph is mostly irrelevant to this reply)

Yeah like I said in an edit (that I apparently made after you started replying to me, oopsie, my bad), I largely don't blame you guys, especially when not many figurine producers are really out there. I was more airing my general distaste with Youtooz's business model and why it turns me away from buying from them. That said this is entirely from a consumer perspective; maybe they're super easy to work with, and that's great, glad to hear it. I just don't like em.

postal is just not compatible with the current world , only pol corect games are allowed nowdays so they had to compile with the current narrative right, I dont blame them they tried... but its a failure. Should have made a hardcore edgy game as postal 2, and forget about the steam release

I don't think politics had anything to do with the game's quality lol
