I'm hoping the game is easy to Mod, I have played postal 2 so much that I have a great rick hunter impression. Would love to record all the dialog to this game and play it

As much as I miss Rick Hunter's voice, Jon Saint John is doing an excellent job with his own take on the character.

Rick Hunter wasn't available, Dude Nukem is what we get. It's not a matter of what the devs prefer, he just literally isn't available and Jon Saint John was the next best thing they could do. If Rick was available, he'd be in the game.

Rick has some unused lines already but clearly not finished, so they definitely tried at some point but it didn't seem to pan out all the way, they were probably recorded ages ago for all we know.

My only real gripe is that the Duke here isn't nearly as angry as postal dude should be. We've gone from, "Sign my petition or I'll kill your dog" to, "Rats, I can't get discouraged yet!"

Just seems like an odd choice, and hopefully that changes through the story.

Yea, go get the original Dude to come back and do the voice before the final is done. This guy doesn't sound like dude, and you call him duke? He's NOT duke nukem either, what duke are you talking about? Duke of dorks? That sounds more like it.

Just coz Ricks not available now doesn't mean he wont be available before the final is released. Hope he can come back and fix up the dudes voice as it wont be the same without him.

For the beta I recommend to go get previous voice recordings and use them. This guy is not dude and never will be.

Want this to be better than P3? Get the real dude voice or it wont be.
I liked P3, so far its funnier and better than this.

Mike has said that they're not going to replace John St. John; it would be a ♥♥♥♥ move to him. He also stated: "We needed you [Rick Hunter] months ago man, it's over. You're not The Dude now." Which I honestly kinda think is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing to say, especially the last part. The last time Rick couldn't do The Postal Dude, it was because he was going through a bad breakup at the time, and didn't think he could give it his all. Because we know so little about what's going on behind the scenes, I fear his absence here is due to similar circumstances. With that in mind, it kinda feels like Mike's kicking Rick when he's down, y'know?

Hot take: I like Jon. I think he's doing a great job.
Sure he's not Rick, but he's really giving it his all. You can really feel the giddyness in his voice, especially in the post kill one liners. He's also showing off his vocal range well here, it's rare to not hear him as the duke man for once.
