We use the latest version of EAC, but, unfortunately, we have no plans about making official support of Linux/Wine and so on.
Would just enabling it as is without any guarantee that the game actually works from you be an option? Rather than officially supporting and testing the version on your end, it would just get rid of the current blocker and allow the Linux community to deal with any issues themselves, just like how it was before EAC was added. That's really all we want: The functionality to be enabled so there is nothing holding us back.
Thanks!
The option I am asking for only restores compatibility and doesn't affect the game in any other way. It's really just a button that makes sure Linux/Wine/Proton is not blocked.
When you think about it; you'd think Linux OS would be more supported by Russian developers since Windows is extremely western rooted/owned and has many security flaws that give access to western intelligence organisations above all else.
Linux is open-source sure but at least its a globally contributed OS and hasn't got blatant (western) spyware hidden in it!
I'll never understand Chinese and Russian citizens absolute fascination with Windows OS as their main desktop driver.. its kind of hilarious really...
I understand that Linux support was not planned, but maybe EAC support is still possible to add?
If a developer says NOPE as an official response to Steam-Deck or Proton support, then you can sure as hell bet its because of hidden grievances they do not wish to discuss at risk of starting a ♥♥♥♥ fight.
We can only hope that overtime the fears of supporting Proton or Linux fades away.

Valve have said repeatedly that you don't have to specifically support Linux/Wine. If there's any bugs that only affect the game running under Proton, that's their problem to fix, not yours.
There is a problem with EAC atm where only the EGS version and another specific build of EAC work with proton.
Many developers are using Custom or Latest builds which do not have Proton support. Hopefully this gets rectified over time; however its possible this developer just doesn't want steam-deck or linux/proton sales (bizarre I know but it happens).
Proton supports Easy Anti-Cheat without requiring any recompilation, but it does require you to manually enable support for your build by following these steps in order:
1 Go into the EAC settings on the EAC partner site and enable Linux support from the dashboard.
2 Once that’s done, download the EAC Linux library ( easyanticheat_x64.so ) for the SDK version integrated with your game, and add it to your depot next to the Windows library ( EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll ).
3 Lastly, on the Steamworks site, publish a new build of your game containing the new depot contents. (You don’t have to make any changes to the game executable, just include the new files in the depot contents.)

I've been on Facepunch for a couple months now about doing it for Rust.
