Quests are taking way to long!
I like the concept of the game and it runs very smooth. But there is something that is bothering me and keeping me away from this game.

The quests are taking WAY to long for me. I played 21 hours and i just reach level 10. A friend of mine has half less hours and he is the same level as me. Why? Because i can't find the quests items.

The reason why i quit the game is, i need to search for hours and hours to get the quests items. For example, (Awl) simulator quest. Get the venom from creatures. I was fighting them for 2.5 hours, to get 5 times the venom. It cost me a broken knife, and more then 700 bullets to complete. Result, massive money lost.

Same with the light bulbs and oil. I've been searching for hours, i find 1 quest item per hour. This is just insane! It cost me 5 hours to find 5 times oil for only 1000exp while i need 32.869 exp to level up.

A friend of mine doesn't have this issue, he's always done in a few minutes while i need to search for hours. We quit the game because of this.

I've decided to try again after months, but its still the same. I was searching for oil again, i ran up there and every box is empty. I only find dishes and spoons and nothing else. The animals spawn faster then the freaking quest items. Again, i'm losing to much money compared the time and resources i put in the missions.

I'm not talking about leveling up quick or be max level within a few hours, but come on, finding 1 quest item per hour is just insane. I can't collect the stuff unless i keep running around for hours and hours, or keep killing creatures for hours.

Let's do some math. If i find 1 oil per hour and i need 5, that cost me 5 hours to complete a mission that only gives me 1000exp. I need 32.869 exp to level up. So it will take me up to 160 hours to go level 11, if i only have this type of missions. Same with collecting venom, i take me up to 2.5 hours to collect 5 times venom. A friend of mine did the same quests, he killed 1 creature and find 3x venom, in just one kill.

You can repeat this mission, so we both tried again. I killed many creatures, was fighting for a half hour and didn't get one venom. My teammate also repeated the mission and yet again, he was finished in just 7 minutes.

Thank god there are also other missions that are easy (kill a person for example), but finding certain items in a area is just a pain in the♥♥♥♥♥ Only way for me to make a profit is killing some creatures, sell the meat and repeat, which is in the end insanely boring.

The fact that for some reason you wasted 700 bullets and needed 2,5h to complete a 10min quest doesn't exactly mean anything expect that you should probably start using
keyboard and mice since TV remote might not be the right tool for the job. Same with the oil example, its a 15-20min quest so I have absolutely no idea what are you even doing to end up with 1 oil per hour.

Besides the horrible examples and borderline retarded math you are right. For me questing is tedious, boring and turns the game into Running Simulator 2009. The time and effort you have to put into some of these quests while getting laughable exp which is usually equivalent of 3-5 monster kills is usually not worth it.

Overall as someone who doesn't like the generic questing I don't think they are that bad. If they increased the exp on them a bit I think it would be ok. There is only a handful of really, really bad missions

Did i said that i was playing with a controller or behind a "remote" TV? No, so what the hell are you talking about? It took me up to 2.5 hours to collect the items i needed. I killed many of those creatures to get what i needed. The reason why i used around 700 bullets is by the fact that i needed them to kill the creatures. I was using a SKS with the normal bullets, not the AP bullets. The went down after 5 or 6 shots. So, you can count how many i have killed, at some point the area was just completly empty and needed to wait until new ones spawned. They didn't dropped the item for some reason why the quest was active.

Same with the oil, i've been inside the village a few times. All the boxes are empty except for some spoons and plates. I'm busy with that quest since march 2018 and i have only collected one. I visite that village regulary and all those boxes are always empty except for some useless stuff. Today i checked it again, only one oil. After that, all the boxes are empty again for hours.

I even checked for light bulbs, spend hours in searching them. I haven't found even one, i checked the location, quest description, i even looked up on the forums, youtube or even try to find guides. I haven't found one, and i'm also busy with that quest since march 2018. Its just a pain in the ass.. And those are just a few examples, i also had more issues with other quests.

That friend of mine has exactly the same as you, 10 minutes max to find all the stuff. For me everyting is empty or hardly spawn any "quest" items. I only find stuff on shelves and stuff but boxes. Nope!

Almost every quest item has fixed respawn, which means they always repawn in same boxes and places. If you are just running round' the map looking for random boxes won't find anything that way.

Oil is at F12-1 area in(and around) the big garage and also at C6-9 in a box outside.

Lightbulbs are at C6-1 on a shelf in the grocery store and above doors all over Engineering settlement

Oil is somewhat of a nuisance since it has decentrly long respawn time but there are few boxes where you can find 4 of them. One of those boxes is in the engineering settlement.

Afcourse i do, the locations are in the quest descriptions. But the boxes in those locations are always empty for me. I only see spoons and plates and sometimes medical supplies but that's about it.

There are like 5 or 6 boxes in that settlement. The most where empty and only 1 had a spoon and 1 quest item. I went away, did some other stuff, went back after a long time, checked it again, only spoon and plates. I grabbed them out (so new stuff can spawn), went away, came back after a while, again only spoons and plates and 1 medical kit.

I checked that settlement 3 times in 1 hour, and only found 1 oil.

hey I found that a lot of the quests that require you to find junk IE:10 venom of the sizzletit monster. Tend to be hard to find when I make them my only goal on my outting. So I started looking at multiple quest/missions and running around grabbin a bit of eveything. Then head back to where I started for item respawns and continue my run around. I found this method was less time sinky as I was doing multiple tasks at once. It also taught me safe route to traverse this deadly world! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Boars are my nemesis as a hunter.

PS playing with more then one person makes it wayyyyyyy easier I have a few friends I just bought game for and we are haven a great time. GL
