How do I eat and drink

Right click on food and select use.

You should be able to right click the food in inventory and click "use"

@DABEAT, thanks for the response. All the food/water I find/can buy is rat meat. I cant find where to cook it.

You must buy cooked meat at solechny, the barman have a large list of It, i didnt manage to craft the campfire yet so i buy the food.

Ye, you can't eat raw rat meat. You need to craft the campfire by combining matches and 5 firewood. The matches you can buy from the barman and the closest firewood to the starter town would be in the MTE. Just stick close to the east wall and you should both find some and avoid almost all agro.

Alternatively just buy some food from the barman. Eventually I think that's much more time efficient anyway.

When outside of the city just keep an eye out. You will find piles that you can hold f on, just like you did for the mushrooms. I've found quite a bit around the MTE area.
