Post Game Alternate Endings? Spoilers
I just beat the heart dungeon and I am not sure what to do after. Is there an alternate ending you can get?

Nope, Heart Prison is just a challenge dungeon to obtain the family stone. But congratulation of beating the Heart Prison!

As far as the heart dungeon and other bonus content goes...

It's honestly not worth it. There is a lot of cool post game content but the reward for doing it is disappointing. You would think you'd get an alternate ending or something for the amount of level grinding and messing around you have to do to beat the Heart Dungeons and the Dark Dungeon, and volcano, but no.

This game doesn't even have achievements so there's really no reason to do it.

The main game and story are cool and there was a lot of potential with this post game stuff, but I think the developer really fell flat with this. Fortunately the main game is worth all of the level grinding, but don't bother with anything when you've gotten the "ending" and then left the house because you're not going to see much for your work.

Maybe I'm wrong about this and there is some super secret thing nobody has discovered, but yeah. Really, if you didn't have to level grind as much as you do to do this stuff, I think I'd be okay with the post game content being just kind of ho hum.

Yeeeah, there's no alternate endings, sorry, bud, I know the ending's a bummer. I want the kid to be okay too.

I don't care about the ending being sad. I was basically certain very early on that it wouldn't end well to begin with. Even if it had been a gut punch, though, I totally respect the story having a dark and depressing ending.

I just care that significant effort isn't adequately rewarded. Why have all these extremely hard repeat bosses if it doesn't go anywhere? They're really not worth it in themselves because they're just harder versions of things we've already done.

There's not even a bragging rights reward because the dev doesn't want to put in achievements.

You really have to consider how much time you'll have to spend level grinding to beat the optional bosses and ask yourself "Was all that repetitive work worth it?"

I don't think it is. It feels like a cheap was to extend playtime. I think the effort put into these optional areas would have been better spent making the main campaign better.

Again, if there were achievements and some sort of alternate ending, or whatever, I'd be okay with spending days level grinding to beat the Dark Dungeon and the heart dungeon. My time just feels wasted on those things.

Main game/adventure? Totally worth the time invested.
Optional stuff? For the most part, not really.

What 'level grinding' are you talking about? Or do you mean actually doing Dark Dungeon? I never spent any time 'grinding' and I never used any of the +XP items.

Same. As long as you fight every enemie you encounter on a dungeon till the end of that dungeon, you dont need to grind.

There are many points in the game where bosses are so overly powerful that level grinding becomes required to beat them. Fighting every random encounter, even if that wasn't incredibly tedious, won't cut it. This is especially true for optional bosses.

You can search the game forum and see that I'm far from the only person that has pointed this out.

I can vouch for this. I think LISA is a perfect example of a game with zero level grinding, you get all the experience you need from enemies you are forced to fight to progress and it encourages that you to seek out enemies (and allies for that matter) for some extra rewards. Say what you will about the combat itself, LISA sidesteps level grinding entirely and it makes for a great experience.
gotta love people upset that they cant show off achievements lmaoo
