I'm looking for the new ones from the Showdown Update:
“Any Ammo” Experimental AI-76, and “Dragon’s Breath” Experimental Sjöqvist.
I already have the “Smart Gun” Experimental HP5.
The reason for the ask is that previously it has been that only certain weapons drop from certain rival classes, so i am asking if anyone has discovered where these two drop from.
Not sure if it is still the case. But, basically, the best of these reports from the better players, tended to agree with QQ's assessment.
Not sure if the Reaper Suicide still matters now. Never taken one on yet.
One is lost if it destructs before you finish it off, and another loss if you are downed during the fight.
The presence of both weapons is not guaranteed.
Something like some rocks and other hard cover, maybe like pre-fabs, block his blasts, but not his last mega-blast or something. There must be two types and a way to tell which is which by his sounds and special effects colors or something.
But if you don't have full hard cover like even the head shows, you get downed. I don't know if the other type of blast, maybe it is the one that damages himself, is not avoidable or not. I think I saw one vid one time where he could damage himself 3 times, maybe on Guerrilla before he died. Man that has to be a tough fight. (Besides that he is armed up the wazoo, a super-Rival, and detects well and is super persistent)
I have a working strategy for taking them on, and it has proven reasonably successful:
I take TWO PM-71 lmg's and a GRG m/49 to the fight.
I reload behind hard cover during its nuclear farts, and I use the splash damage from the GRG to take out its dogs once they drop.
Survey the area BEFORE you engage and work out the best place for cover. Then, take a few shots at it to bait it to your location. Don't go after it, or you'll likely be out in the open.
Take your time getting it to move - it can be a stubborn SOB and usually just sits there, so plink it enough times to p**s it off and eventually it will start to move towards you.
Then you do the deed: Shield emitters first, then the weapons. The shield doesn't make it invulnerable, but it does greatly reduce your damage. Timing helps conserve ammo.
It has four attack types:
1 - Machine guns using incendiary rounds. Very high RoF.
2 - Missiles like the ones Apoc harvesters use that leave radioactive puddles.
3 - The green Nuclear fart. It will sound off beforehand, so time to either get out of range, or get behind hard cover. It is insta-death if you get caught in the blast.
4 - FNIX Missile dogs x6 after every fart cycle. It will attempt to attack you to protect the dogs deployment time.
When it is in its death throes, it will sound distorted and emits purple gas. Just keep on the trigger, and switch weapons rather than stop to reload. If you die in the final blast, there is always a chance you'll get one of the weapons, but if you stand your ground, you might get lucky.
Keep trying. You will get lucky more times than not.
