I understand why the team chose Sweden but it would be so cool if a studio did a game like this and do sequel games where each sequel is a different country with diff robots and missions. I've played this game since its release and will always have a special place in my heart for GZ

The team that invented and developed Gen Zero was changed post covid, my guess would be when the resistance base was added. It would be nice to have something else come from the original team. And the present team would come out with their own base building/defense game like what Gen Zero was turned into...I would not support that like I have supported Gen Zero. $$$

Sweden works because in the timeline it's neutral. Not part of NATO and not part of the Soviet Union. Leaving it isolated.

For another country to work they'd also have to be neutral or a pariah state like North Korea, and you can probably see why that would be a no no.
