so any bugs that aren't fixed in this update or any new bugs that appear from it will be permanent

Since release the game had and has bugs. With every patch or update they fixed some but "added" another. So i think it will be the same with the last upcoming update.
I'm a DAY 1 buyer/player, but i don't think i'll start a full new playthrough ever again, since all the alterations they've done in the recent years do not please me.

I am with you on the play through, but I may try one day.

I hope because the game is finally finished, the Dev team will spend 100% efforts to repair any big glitches so it is as complete as possible.

It gave me a chance to escape to a world that was no worse than my real world at a time when most of us could not leave our home, only to buy food. We could not go to parks to play, could not gather to socialize. Even though in the game I was alone, I was given hope that if I continue to find ways to destroy the machines, I would some how help the world be better.

I echo the same sentiments, this game was escape from isolation, but gaming (not only this game) has become now a retreat to isolation as an escape of the world as it is at times.

And it seems it will only be final if we stop playing it.

@SniperGirl and ~V~ : I see you are from the United States, i am from Austria (not Australia ;-) ). I don't know how the situation was in the US, but we also had lock downs BUT i liked it (this is not intended to antagonize you). Since this game came out in 2019, it's not related to COVID time for me.
What i really feel when i play the game: Some good memories of my own past - in 1989 i was 14. The game location is in sweden, but there are comparable places in Austria too (but only small lakes, no sea).
Even more past memories i get when i watch the first 10 minutes of the film "The Goonies" from 1985. I did similar things like the child-actors in the movie :-)

I'll hope so....
I know many of you love the game.
And I will probably still love the gameplay.

But, personally I feel screwed by the developers.
I bought a finished product !!!
I didn't buy a game in early access.

The game isn't what I bought, it changed.
I'll give it a try when the Devs leave this game alone.....

As much as it pains me the writing has been on the wall for some time.

They abandoned their other Early Access title (Second Extinction), so it's not surprising they are now abandoning this one as well.

My recommendation is to never buy a game from these devs again, they make half baked games that are repetitive and get stale fast and they also straight up abandon their games before they're finished/good.

This isn't a live service game, so it's not being "abandoned" its being "finished" which is pretty normal for (primarily) singleplayer/offline games.

Abandoning would be if they dumped it with half the story and/or features missing, which does not appear to be the case.

Maybe you can join the 1000 Hours club soon.
So I know your problems with these “so called bugs” I'm a pre order player and between what problems and bugs there used to be, what there is today is just crap. This is nothing. Do you want to constantly hate games just because they have a few minor bugs? NO game today is bug free. The 1 -2 bugs I've had in my almost 1k hours of playtime are a joke compared to the problem that used to be that 2 hours of game progress was always deleted
