This gun is an absolute beast but the ammo crafting is dreadfull. 1 each craft and you need to salvage emp cells to get the new mats and after killing so many and getting only a small one is awful. Wish we could have a better chance of droping. 1 large emp cell give 30 ultracapacitors and 1 craft is 18 capacitors for 1 ammo.

I haven't gotten the weapon yet(4 or 5 kills sofar) but have already managed to salvage 1800 capacitors without doing any farming of base defense(medium/hard) yet. So I guess I'll have a nice amount to really test it by the time the Vulture finally drops it for me.

you can also use the ammo boxes which gives 3 shot until you have 20 in inventory, if this is less tedious for you

yeah came back after a long break and saw a video and manage to craft ammo box
