Something has gone wrong with Gen Zero after Resistance update
I got used to some inexplicable damage, coming from sources which shouldn't have been able to reach me, such as damage coming through walls of houses, etc .. but, something has happened to make this much, much worse.

Unexplained, inexplicable damage coming from sources that aren't even there, through solid rock as well as walls this time.

For example, there is one robot outside a house to the South, just one as I'd killed the rest, and I take small amounts of damage from sources to both the North and the East as well .. through walls and even got killed once from a single shot that was able to pass through solid rock.

It's as though the Resistance update has not only ramped up the robots damage % but also their ability to damage the player through literally any cover.

Not sure what the point of a game is when you take cover behind solid rock and that solid rock is as little use as hiding behind tissue paper.

.. and why is it so easy to get stuck in a small space between objects, like crates?

Doesn't the character have any ability to understand the concept of pulling themselves onto an object in order to climb over it?

One of the basic physic things humans have been doing for centuries.

I know ticks can damage you through walls still, but that's been going on for a while. There is also risk of some splash damage no matter where you take cover, except maybe in a bunker. Gotta treat everything else like Swiss cheese.

Is the solid rock inside a cave or bunker? If not then I wouldn't use it as cover. Use the inside of reliable buildings as much as possible.

Depends on the weapon being used. Gas attacks can penetrate anything. The military/FNIX hunter's shoulder rifle can pierce almost anything in it's direct line. Normal bullets shouldn't be able to hit you through walls or rock and most artillery fire should be stopped though Apoc hunters airburst missile tends to get through depending on where it bursts and then lands it's micromissiles. I'm convinced the game collision detection messes up if it bursts just before hitting an obstacle then spawns the micromissiles on the other side. Military class tanks mortar can sometimes get through one layer of cover but not 2. So if I want to fight from 2nd floor of a house I usually shoot off the mortar.

Those are the only times I've taken damage through walls.

That's a totally unrelated issue. And it's because there is no climbing mechanic. Just like you have to jump up ladder rings instead of using your hands. If you don't want to get stuck in cargo containers, just skip those misplaced loot boxes. There's usually plenty others nearby that are more accessible.

I didn't say it was a related issue ..

No, wasn't any gas or explosive type of attacks at the time .. more like the odd collision mechanic which allows melee attacks through walls.

The single shot was from one of those shoulder rifles, it's the only weapon that can shoot this way, a bit like a rail gun, I was out in the open world, ducked behind a large boulder of what I presumed would be solid rock, like granite for example, and I was one-shotted through the rock .. which even a rail gun would not be able to do without either punching a plasma heated hole through the rock or completely obliterating the rock as the projectile impacted with it.

Enemies will fire the concussion rifle next to cover in order to hit you with the splash damage, one of the scariest weapons in the game. You need to be a fair distance from the point of impact to not be affected.

I also found that after the resistance update, hunters are able to jump much higher and are more aggressive with melee attacks. They can reach you on balconies now and pin you to walls.
