Wolf Capable of Deploying Shields?

I was playing recently and encountered a wolf unit in the north farmlands, I believe near Lilla Hammarnas. While fighting it, it appeared to occasionally 'stand' and generate a shield, indicated by blue squiggly lines floating around the front of it. It appeared to stop weapons fire, but I thought only reapers generated shields.

Can anyone please confirm that wolves also have shields?

Wolves have healing capability but it my case they are greenish. That is probably what you saw. It heals itself and the lynxes that are damaged. To destroy the capability, when not activated, hit a pair of 2 circular things that look like a gas tank cover located on top of its body (left and right) near the head.

EDIT: Color difference could be because of our different color mixture, which I do a lot.

Okay, thanks! Perhaps it was just the visual effect that made it seem like the bullets weren't hitting the wolf. If I encounter one again, I'll pay closer attention.
