Generators and Super Computers
Hi! So I have been trying to find information on how to kill generator bases and computer bases but all I can find is how to destroy FNIX bases and how to build my own base and stuff. So, what is needed in order to destroy them?

Just destroy all 4 generators. Then you can "kill" a base. I can't do it, shield does not disable. Bug or some other ♥♥♥♥ - i don't know. Trying to destroy 5 bases, demolish every wall and nothing. Shield can't be triggered.

Have you found one of these Fnix bases on your map?

If yes then when you come up to it a icon pops up, READ IT

The red beams tell you where the generators are. Blast though walls to get to them. Walk up to it like you want to loot it. It opens, Now it is ready for you to destroy. Should have icon stating X number gen still to destroy. Repeat till no more. Then new icon and that is the base. Like the reaper, it has a shield, and yes, shoot it then. If you think you should run after you hit it, you should already be running then

You will get the hang of it.

I think there is some chance of a misunderstanding here. So just in case I'm going to chime in.

I don't think he is talking of actual Control Point Bases, which is what I think the replies are referring to.

There are also, for example in the South Coast Region a lot of Outposts and almost corrupted looking Fnix like constructions, like walls and data terminals and outposts, which must have a storyline of quests to know what they are and missions to take them down some how. I have not done these yet. But, they look like incomplete Control Points turned FNIX Bases, but they aren't. We get messages referring to these in the field, that talk about a reporter or resistance person, who is tracking the dumping station line down to a certain ending or starting point, probably starting point. He wants to find out what is going on here, what its purpose is, and how to disable or destroy this.

Anyhow, there are some of these in other regions probably as well. I have not yet found the full mission, but I think if I go to the end of the line, either all the way South or North, which he says wish but I forget, then I'll get a key story quest and I'll probably learn what to do. I presume then I will have to destroy these and they will go active and be permanently destructible.

Because in earlier days, they often took no damage, or because recently I was at one which seemed to respawn indefinitely, I believe it isn't worth trying to destroy these non-control point type Fnix-like Bases. But maybe if I spent an extra 5-10 minutes they would blow up, and maybe either stay that way or rebuild because they are not yet active to that suspected Quest Line.

Again, I'm talking here of mostly all of this in the South Coast. I don't have my notes in front of me, but I think it is possible that the Dr. Petersson Quest down towards the So Coast Lighthouse might begin the trigger to it. But as you go that way, more and more of these show up, and they aren't destroyed in the usual way of those bases you mention. They seem placed, their guards reset after time, destruction if possible, resets, but most wall and other structures seem immune.

Just going into detail to see if this might be part of the issue. I sure am not sure, but I suspect I have several quests I've been putting off to control threat, which I hope to do in the next week (but had to replace mouse and keyboard due to major spill of sugary drink which basically ruined both for now). Am using back-ups, but there is an occasional incompatibility causing strange results on certain mouse and keyboard combos that is intermittent and not clear as to why it rarely happens. Thus my delay on progressing.

Yeah mostly in the south, there are alot of generators and super computers. I think I have done all the quests down there and I can still not destroy them. Maybe thats the point? That you can't and wont be able to destroy them. I don't know =)

I suspect you're you're talking about the ordinary Fnix structures, which can't be destroyed and not the Fnix Bases that can be destroyed and converted to player bases.

The structure in the south coast area are related to the fnix rising dlc which can become confusing while they added later base defense and these random fnix bases.

This was the answer I was looking for as well. Gg

Thanks to Sea Sniper and Cruste to linking to the patch notes that cover it. These were before I bought the game, and only suspected some of this.

Good to hear it is part of story, and walls and structures until then, at least, seem indestructible.

Got delayed some more, so I'll look to skim these patch notes, as I don't want to spoil all the story or features, but to get a slight taste, and then finish off the South Coast. Definitely sounds like FNIX story stuff, good.

So far I really like that Mystery and part of the story. But wanted to confirm if it was broken or just story. After what Sea Sniper and Cruste posted, I am even more excited to continue the story in the South Coast. So deeply appreciate the replies.

Core, sounds like you and me got some more exploring to do. YES !!

It seems the OP is just a discussion seeder and did have a real question or problem. The OP has not posted any update about his question.

@ SEA Sniper

Well, at least I valued your answer, and Core did. So OP missed out.

yup.. most of that is for your viewing pleasure and indestructible. Guteby farms in S. Coast is my goto location for the Assignment "destroy 3 power generators".

both had a generator with two red pillars, destroyed everything with rockets, hugged it danced for it and prayed for it, NOTHING and trust me i jumped around pushing and exploding EVERYTHING.

same with a super computer... there seem to be no way to destroy them; just stands there and make a mark on the map that its there....

honestly it's exceptionally annoying with this immunity BS... seriously NOTHING besides a bunker should be able to take multiple rockets (same with locked doors; rockets should explode them, destroying any loot within blast radius...

hmm. either way it seems i am unable to destroy those ...
