Is the "Rivals" DLC Still Worth It?

When the "Dangerous Experiments" update launched a few weeks ago, I almost immediately began searching for all the new weapons to...well...experiment on. I initially got lucky with the .44 Magnus (aka the "Discount Judge"), but to this day, under all the ideal conditions of Rival farming, I found no additional new weapons...or any other Experimental weapon, for that matter.

Granted, RNG is always the culprit for not getting weaponry, as sometimes I'm stuck with various ammo only. However, for almost all Rivals I looted (at least 20 of every class of every typical Rival machine), the weapons that did come about were exclusively DLC weaponry (particularly 5c COM-10s, 4c G79s, 5c Resistance Flamethrowers, and 3-4c Volkov Pistols). Normally, I would like getting these weapons (because I'm trying to be a collectionist to the best of my Plundra's abilities), but now I'm convinced that getting the DLC weapons may not have been a wise decision.

I think with more options the mythical RNG gods have to choose from, the weapon packs have a negative impact on the chance for Experimental Weapons to drop. Of course, the most obvious solution is to "uninstall the DLC," but I feel that I wasted moolah on DLCs that IMO don't add as much necessary stuff to the game as, say, "Alpine Unrest" and "FNIX Rising."

Now, I know there's a "Rivals" DLC, but I'm not fully sure if installing it partially negates the "decreased Experimental weapon drop" problem. Any help on how exactly this DLC plays a significant role here, since Rivals and Experimental weapons already exist? Essentially, I want to know if the "Rivals" DLC is still worth installing, even if it's free.

For me I only got Experimentals to drop after installing it. But maybe that's a coïncidence I'm not sure. I killed 20 Rivals at level 25 before and got 0 exps. I installed the DLC and got 3 exps out of 5 kills.

"Rivals" DLC is activated by default and never had problem with RNG about experimental weapon drops. But I don't have any any DLC weapons on PC and PS4.

That's weird. Yes, Rivals and Experimental weapons exist by default in the base game (I have all Experimental weapons except the ALG and KVM89, and took out at least 6 Reapers in my time with this game), but I do not actually have that DLC installed in my library, nor did I even "purchase" it. Besides, if the DLC has been activated, then why are the devs still selling it on the Steam Store?

From what I have read, the DLC weapons, free or paid, have their own RNG pool and does not effect the RNG of the base game or the experimental. The latest update of weapons seems to have a bug or higher levels of a few of the weapons do not exist.

I too want a complete collection of everything and the latest weapons are very hard to come by. I say this after destroying more than a few reapers and all levels of rivals from all over the map in search of the winter vanity outfits. I am down to just needing the purple/violet scarf. I think today or tomorrow are the last days for this event and I am so close.

i haven't installed the rivals dlc, it is already available by default and i have no issue with getting experimentals weapons left and right from rivals, reaper, fnix bases or base defense missions

sounds like you had bad luck or better as you asume the dlc weapons mess with your pool
can someone confirm, that these dlc weapon have a separated pool?

i had best results with spetsnatz firebird rivals for the new weapons.
