They look the same for a big part, but they ain't the same...
Steam runs on PC and Win10 Xbox Game Pass version runs on PC but no crossplay.
I find Adrian's response a bit lacking as well. If this is a template, it should be adjusted for more specifics.
What really surprised me is that several people did not see the problem in Adrian's response.
It would have been better if Adrian went further and explained you can cross play on xbox and game pass, but that doesn't seem like it is the question the op asked.
I think that MS xbox game pass is something that you pay a monthly fee for, steam you do not. You just buy the license to play the game.

But Adrian's response was confusing as he stated that the PC versions (did not mention Steam at all) can crossplay. If OP knew that Win10 Xbox PC can't crossplay with Steam PC, Adrian's response will be incorrect because they can't actually crossplay.
