It is just of those glitches, unless it becomes consistent throughout your game.

Definitely not just the glasses. I don't ever wear glasses in the game and had this happening a ton while playing with the spouse yesterday. I thought I was losing my mind as it makes those guys really hard to spot.

LOL newbs ;) there are 3 different glasses with visual effects: black and white, high contrast and that cellshade filter.

the effect of the glasses i was wearing was mixed for me. I liked it as the game almost became borderlands style. The lines on objects made things easier to recognise. However the contrast was too great making my eyes hurt

Hang on. You're right, I guess. I was goofing off in MP as I usually only play SP so I kept changing my outfit while the other dude was learning how inventory works in the game (still not very intuitive for new players I'm afraid) just to see if he'd notice. Anyway, I threw on a pair of those silly-looking glasses that sit up on your forehead--it never occurred to me they'd impact vision as visually they sit above the eyes. Learn something new every day, apparently.

EDIT: Logged into the game last night and the goggles I was wearing are considered head gear, not eye-wear, so I don't see how they could have been responsible for the visual changes OP and I both noticed.
