How Do I Stop People From Joining My Game?

I just want to play by myself without having others come into the game. I do not remember ever having people join in my past games.

Start the game and load whichever character you want. Once you have loaded into the game open your menu and find the multiplayer option, switch it to invite only and hit apply. The option only comes up after you're in the game.

That option isn't there anymore in the multiplayer option. It will only allow me to choose how many people I want to have join. The setting is 1 to 3 only.

You won't see the option until you have selected a character and continued the game. If you haven't loaded your save yet then it won't work. If you boot the game, then go to the menu directly it won't be there.

Load your character and once you're in first person view and are able to move around in the safehouse it will show up under the multiplayer menu options. Sometimes there's a delay before the option pops up for some reason, but it worked immediately for me. I tested it to make sure I was providing the proper directions.

Ah, okay. I didn't select my player, I just continued playing the game without selecting.

There's an occasional bug where regardless of your settings, the game lets anyone join. Restarting the program entirely seems to fix it.

Just to add more on what @sunwalker0347 said, re-check you mp privacy settings again when you change character or before you launch a new session.

Strangely enough people can just join your game.
Setting it on private helps a lot,but sometimes people still join in.

It happened to me once when it was on private.
Maybe it was because one of the person's who joined was on my friends list.

I also joined game's from matchmaking that where private.
The developers should make better online matchmaking.
20 year old game's have better matchmaking then this !
