with level cap at 31 I should reach the hacker specialization just fine.
I think I made the right choices for solo play, machines are manageable.

I can't say it has been totally useless, but I am close.
I've hacked a few Runners and about 1 or 2 Hunters. They usually did their job and attacked someone near them. I hacked 1 Harvester. All he did was look dazed and confused and walked away not shooting at other bots. But most of the time you don't even get to hack them. I wonder just how true the percentage of hacking is which I haven't tested. Such as if you see a hunter with a 25% chance of hacking, will you hack it on the 4th of 4 tries?
Hacking can be a bit buggy and slow sometimes but it can work for the most part if you learn how to use it. I have had some amazing results probably a bit more often than not.
At least hacker hacks seekers and runners most of the time and they end up getting destroyed or destroying another robot in groups. Hunters I'd say I hack about half the time and they are great for attacking other enemies. Tanks probably a bit less than 20% of the times I tried it.
I haven’t heard at all about Marksman increasing damage. Only that it prevents your aim from moving around which would certainly help with snipping.
I never used that perk or ever had much sway problem without it, unless you're taking sniping at the greatest distances possible in the game and still register a hit. Enemies can't target you at that range unless they close distance first.
I thought you can get up to five specs (theoretically) but only one can be activated at a time.
Or you put two of them into other skills so they aren't inactive all the time. You also always pick up not so useful stuff on the way to a capstone.
I assume it's fun to play around with that spec when you're not necessarily depending on it.
The skill would be a lot better if the hacked bot was more agressive, you had a 100% success chance but also a massive cooldown. Giving away your position could be actually worth it then.
