Otherwise, you may have to look into replacing the thermal paste of your CPU.
changing that setting does nothing, still going at 144 whatever i do.
Running msi now to cap at 70 fps im at 70C on cpu 60c gpu.
other games usally dont go higher then 60C on my cpu so i find it strange to see it going to 70C
How did u fix it?
My bad... you're totally right.
Capping the FPS with forced vsync would be the thing to do I guess.
That being said, you can use something like RTSS to enforce a framerate cap of your choosing. Alternatively, as others have suggested, if you turn on vsync it will also effectively cap the framerate at your monitor's refresh rate.
been using MSI afterburner to put a cap on it, steady 70C on gpu and cpu its ok
I use RTSS to limit my fps and I dont remember a single crash on a full playthrough of both the base game and the DLC on this last patch.
I already shut down pretty much everything. Makes no difference.
Also tried using Nvidia Inspector to downclock my graphics card, but it still crashes. I find that if I use a Windowed mode I actually get to see an error message saying some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the Direct 3D device being disconnected. Which it clearly is not.
Which suggests it's something screwed up in the way the game talks to my graphics card.
What is isn't complaining about is the ram, which SHOULD, if anything, be the issue, since I only have 6GB of it.
But the game runs perfectly... until it randomly crashes for no reason.
In case this is a driver issue... is anyone else using a 980 Ti, and if so what driver version are you using? I'm sure I've tried several by now. Even did a clean install after using display driver uninstaller in safe mode.
