(They actually said there wouldn't be any credits rolling in the end.. but that happened at least)
I stumbled into that mission too, by playing with a co-pp mate, that had gotten it from another co-op mate.. We both thought it sounded a lot like the way to the 'final mission', but went ahead and did it anyway.
I thought the ending was quite good, and suited the plot, the time and the voice acting etc etc.
Why you should continue to play? I don't know, why did you play? I enjoy it a bit too much I guess, but I have no immediate plans to stop playing, as I haven't finished the game on my own game.. as I can't even get into the 'Minken' bunker, I can't complete the entire game as it is.
I'm just sneaking around, looting and trying to find every little town, safe house or overall interesting place. ..while waiting for a patch.
I agree that the story in the quest did lead to a closure. But I still think that the whole quest hade the feeling of a side quest more than the final piece of the puzzle.
What I am a bit let down by is the fact that my level or gear did not provide any advantage during this whole last quest chain. I felt that I was preparing for a showdown but in the end none of that matter.
I am actually playing the game right now. And I am still looking for better gear and hunting down robots for xp and fun. But I guess that my reason for doing this have changed. The game have become more of a sandbox then a quest and I think I preferred it when it had a purpose.
They overall story in the game is a little like the Swedish voice acting.. At times brilliant for the time setting and genre, but still no Oscars awarded, as it was sent straight to the TV , as part of it didn't really make any real impact as a whole, and the reviewers hated it, as it wasn't what they thought it would be.
I'm the kind of player that usually like the lack of story, and a blank custom char that do whatever I (or my char) would like to do in that world, withing the games limits.
While I hated Far Cry 5, i still have 300+ hours in it. Ghost Recon Wildlands 300+ hours.
Just gimmie a sandbox and I'll try to keep myself entertained. ;)
The robots do a quite good job at keeping you on your toes.. if playing solo, and at least pretend you care if you die. Those damn hunters are mean!
The bots on the other hand don't give the satisfaction, as doing a perfect sneak kill of a human or a monster.
A few times I thought 'Damn that shot really looked like it hurt .. it's ... hmm ..fuse-box?' Only no not feel any satisfaction anyway no matter how good of a shot it was..as it just were in the .. fuse-box. spreading pieces of ... metal junk around.
I understand it must feel a bit weird to stumble into the ending mid-game, if the main goal is being taken on a ride in a Swedish 80's robocalypse story.
