You can as well start a new char without the flaws your current one have
That wasn't easy to know about, as some skills sounded fun and useful, but turned out to be ..almost useless, and the max level isn't mentioned anywhere in the game.
not to forget you get an achivement for creating a new charater, and if you want to get fast level 30 in like 2hours, stack your inventory with flares and the other similar ones, bait robots to one place, and start throwing them on random places, you get insane amount of xp the longer you can be in combat and the more flares you have, on my first try i got 10levels and that was just with like 20'ish flares.
not to forget you have to kill all the robots when you are out of flares. should be pretty easy with propane tanks.
You get a nice char at LVL 30, if you plan ahead, sadly not by playing and having fun.
Quite a few of the skills don't work as intended. The hacking is almost useless, the first 4 skills in the right tech-tree almost have to be maxed, for getting enough ammo and good explosive fuel-cells etc etc.
So while LVL 30 certainly is enough.. a lot of the skills and Top Tier 'active skills' are more or less bad.
So do you want to be able to select more bad skills, a possibility to reset the skills, or even a general skill makeover? (Who the heck wants 50% more (mission only) XP from the left tech tree? One-shot a re-spawned tank twice and you get more XP than I ever got from a mission!)
I'd personally vote for the last two alternatives, while I'm really fine with my lvl 30 char.
I 'retired' my supporting 'hacker' as he looked good and fun on paper.. but actually were the worst combination of skills ever imaginable, and incredibly boring and of little help to anyone, and of no help for me running solo.
Having all skills maxed is not creative. It make every char a master of everything, and the only difference will be the currently selected active top tier skill.
Get a damn trainer and choose infinite skill-points.. and your payers will be answered.
(Not my first choice, as I started a new char instead, when the first one were useless, and now the first one is even deleted)
The skills are the only choices in the game that we will have to do. the only thing that separates the characters from all other players. (Except clothing and looks) that still will end up quite the same as the skills are tied to the colors, not random.
Still not trying to tell people to play it in a way they don't prefer.. It's a very open game, and can be played in a lot of different ways.. constantly being a suicide bomber in the other hand.. why even play if one don't see any other way around the 'too hard/too easy' bots.
Play it as you wish.. but you will never get all skills. if we ever do, that will be the day the game officially dies for those of us that are passionate about the game.
