Multiple Gates
We really need a way to place multiple gates
As of right now theres not a great feasible way in franchise mode to do certain exhibit set ups where the animals have public and private areas as the keepers cant use the little walkways or doors or tunnels we made for the animals.
Would be great to have multple gates as an option without mods

I'm confused. I didn't think animals used doors. And I thought the keepers could walk almost anywhere that isn't blocked by scenery/construction items? Please unconfuse me!

Inside a habitat building pieces block movement of animals and staff. If sufficient space is provided between objects animals and staff may pass between them. If we make ramps and platforms from scenery animals and staff may indeed walk on that scenery. With this in mind we can indeed make doors and bridges within a habitat to create sheltered or behind-the-scenes areas inside a habitat. And bridges to cross ditches and ponds can be created.

Not wanting to speak for the author, but I understand their comment to mean that they wish for additional gates so the keeper can access regions that might be connected only by terrain the animal can traverse - e.g. a rest area connected to the viewing area via a catflap style gate/door that is too small / high-up/ awkwardly shaped for a human to walk through.

You see this all the time in real zoos, I visited one with a wolf enclosure. Their main area was a big fenced in field, the keepers accessed this via a pair of 'airlock' gates large enough to get a wheelbarrrow through. The wolves also had an indoor enclosure attached to it. The wolves accessed it via a hatch about 1m square. The keepers accessed the indoor enclosure via a separate door of human proportions. Thus, the single wolf enclosure had two zones connected via a door used only by animals and featured two gates used by humans.

Hopefully this unconfuses you.

@Juniper - I wish for this also, because I think it would make those cool tiger bridges easier to make!

Thank you! That makes so much sense now! Like the big cat enclosures at the Saint Louis Zoo.

hmm this conversation makes for some possibly interesting designs.

I wonder if we might use the airlock and a keeper gate to create a neutral space for entering habitats...
Perhaps if the airlock were non habitat but connected to the habitat walls?

It would also be good if the keepers and vets used the guest gates in the same way they use keeper gates. It's annoying to see an animal being taken to somewhere and the vet goes through a guest gate, out of the habitat, then back in through the keeper gate. Same when animals are being moved in.

What I would like to see is a keeper hut with a keeper gate in one wall, that can be attached to a barrier.

Fairly sure this will only happen in PZ2, it's far too late for them to be bothering now.

There's a lot missing from PZ that would make it an even better sim. Such as staff vehicles.
