The game doesn't take months into account with seasonal weather.

It i kind of silly... In the game snow is present when the precipitation routine is active and the temperature falls below freezing. The weather system doesn't seem to figure in the time of year very well.

It doesn't figure time of year at all, like lonelysaturn said the weather is entirely randomised and disconnected from the calender.

We just don't have seasons. :steamsad:

It does seem to be random, but usually happens when the temp drops below 0. And Europe is huge, so you are getting average European weather, and many parts do get below 0. If you want to create a Spanish zoo, use one of the hot areas. There's a desert zoo option. At least when creating for the sandbox.

The weather causes the drop in temperature, not the other way round. Whichever weather the game chooses next will cause the temperature to adjust (including day or night).

Ermm, there's a difference? Temperature is the weather, and vice versa. Anyway, to answer the OP more. When using the basic zoopidea filter it comes up with non-political areas. The EU is a political area, whereas Europe is a vast continent, including areas that have many feet of snow year round! The filter can be narrowed down to smaller regions, but not countries, and clicking on an animal will bring up more concise details as to where they live. It would be good if the filters could be selected for specific countries. But the are 100s!
