Computer Freezing and Crashing? Help please

I’ve played Planet Zoo a LOT but in the past 2 days now, my PC has completely frozen up 3 times with no way to save and exit the game or even Control+alt+delete to exit with task manager. Like it completely puts my PC out of commission and I have to turn it off with the power button.

My pc is a high end gaming PC that’s never had issues running it before for the past 2 years. I also don’t use mods for planet zoo, as I heard some people had this issue when adding mods.

I started a new zoo recently, which is what I’ve been playing on, and it only has 4 habitats so far and is very minimal so I don’t think it’s an issue trying to load all of the content.

The only thing that’s changed in these past couple days is I just bought 5 new DLC packs. Has anyone had this happen? Is it a PC issue or a planet zoo issue? I also play Apex Legends, planet crafter, Subnautica, Minecraft, medieval dynasty, etc with no lagging or crashing issues at all.

Has anyone else had this issue? I genuinely don’t know if it’s a problem with my PC or the game at this point.

First step to diagnose is to verify game files through steam library. The most likely thing, given that you added dlc, the game might have errors from that which need correcting. Reinstall is not advised as fresh installs might need to be verified as well.
Other things to confirm are confirming windows and system drivers are all up to date. Also confirm that your processor, memory and graphics card are not overheating.

I'm having the same issues. Had the game since its release, no mods, high end pc. The freezing began some weeks back, I have to force shut my pc down each time.

Off the top of my head, I can only remember it has:

i7 9700k
RTX 3080
48 GB ram

I can check the rest of the specs after work later today

Wonder if it has something to do with the update that addressed windows update issues on certain systems....

Probably related to the Denuvo copy proctection.

I have the same issue for weeks. I played the game without problem for over 300 hours, with all the DLC's and without any mod. But now, it's unplayable. I seriously think it may have something to do with the Windows update 24H2 I did at the end of January.
