Does anyone just feel...bad using one? I mean...as a concept, I prefer the green energy items, but they can be such a pain in rear because they a much shorter range, and you can't cover them up.

I know I shouldn't ACTUALLY care if I use one, but it feels so wrong.

I cover them them up with shells and don't tell anyone they are there.

Have not really thought about it; I just use whatever fits the area or my mood.
You can cover up the wind turbine and solar panel. The turbine is rather tall
so I usually put those on top of buildings, build a square or round tower. As long
as you do not cap it with a solid roof, it works fine. For a square tower I cap it with
a conservation slat panel and also make the sides slats for "realism". The solar panel can be covered sides and top with solid pieces and they still work. But, that does look odd, so, I cap it with slats. Anyway, all depends on the look you want.

Since I play mostly franchise I don't use it for the costs. But also later on when my zoos are really rich and I need not care any longer, I usually do not use them, because - it feels wrong, yes

I tend to go with the concept of if it's in the game it's okay to use them. But if one is going for a specific type of zoo that pushes the ecology side of things then one might very much desire to use the conceptually greener options. Either way, in my most humble opinion, it isn't wrong or bad to use transformers and instead just personal choice on the specific zoo design.

I know it's entirely illogical, but it just feels wrong! But...for the design I want, I do want to have roofs, so I guess I have to.

I prefer to use them, as a petrol head (yes I know they're diesel). The "green" options are also objectively useless in game in terms of range.

Usually the range is less an issue for me as they have less negative issues for guests, so easier to plop them everywhere. But that would mess up the look I am going for with this one.
