Confused by what content I do and don't have???

I only have the base game; I bought it a few yrs ago but have only started playing it recently, and I'm looking at buying DLCs for it. However the animals listed in some of the DLCs are animals I know I have, e ven though I have never bought that DLC.

DLC animals I know i have are
South America Animals
Aquatic Animals
Arctic Animals
Australia Animals

I know I have animals from these packs because I have two different franchise zoos that between them have King Penguins, Red Kangaroos, Koalas, Blue Tongue Skinks, and Red Eye Tree Frogs physically in my habitats, and animals across all those DLCs present in my animal trading hubs. What's the deal? Should I buy those DLC? Steam says I don't have them, but I have the animals that are in them. And what about the other DLCs?

EDIT: I also had Arctic Wolves in one of them, and last night I got so sick of seeing Cassowaries for trade I stopped checking for a while lol.

their is about 16 DLCS

You can check your DLC on your Planet Zoo page in your library. You shouldn't be able to buy any animals you don't have the DLC for, from what I remember.

While in the steam store you should see the dlc you have with a blue label notifying you already in your library. The game oddly doesn't give any easy to identify source of what you do have.
