How do Souvenir Shop Counters work?

I have the teal Souvenir Shop Counter but it says "Not connected to a souvenir shop" and I'm not seeing how to do that? I've put down a few shelves and selected the merchandise. I'm just not able to figure out how to get the cashier counter to work?

Ah, that counter has to be placed in the modular shop along with some shelves for salable items. The little counters with two legs are the ones that go on paths.

Yep, I have both the modular counter they turquoise boxy one, not the one with two legs, and the turquoise modular shelves with products selected. But all of them say "not connected..." on them.

i've never built one but it's sounding a bit like the benches for the animal lectures. check the counter and see if there's a "link" button.

Thats sort of what I expected, but there isn't. It's just a message that says it's not connected to any shop. :-/

I have just figured it out, I think. I'm posting this here in case anyone is googling the same problem so they have an answer. Still can't figure out how to sell the balloons though. The balloon displays still say "not connected" and there's no settings in the cashier counter to add them...

Those balloon vending stands also need to be placed on the modular shop facility.

I have them on shop shelves and counter. That's a beautiful shop you built!

There is an issue where a normal shop needs to be selling things that are in the modular shop before guests will purchase and/or carry those items.
