Tell us about what sculpted terrain you wish for.
I've heard a lot of players say they struggle with boring flat zoos. And some others feeling like their zoo is a big grid. So let us know what sort of place or terrain setup you really want but don't want to have to do a lot of terrain work.

A few mesas here and there could be cool. especially if they added elevators.

Just a bumpy map, Randomly generated hills and valleys that I can re-roll if I don't like them. I just want something to build around - to help generate some inspiration.

I doubt we will get a random terrain generator in the game but that could be awesome.

I'm considering putting out some user created sculpted maps without vegetation or buildings.
This is the kind of thing I'm wondering. I have an inspiration for a medium sized lake with a grand dam at one end with little streams feeding said lake. the surrounding area would be gentle hills with flat areas to build on. Maybe supply it in a couple different biomes for players to choose from. So lets get those ideas rolling.

I expect you mean in the Sandbox? There really is not enough variety. All the maps seem to be fixed rather than randomly generated. Creating those big hills takes a long time! What about an infinitely sizeable landstamp? That would be handy. As it is now it's like trying to dig the grand canyon with a spade.

Sounds wonderful, @grampers62. i struggle with barriers in the sculptured maps, but they are more interesting. I use flat maps and try hard to make them look different. Not sure what is the best control to have on when trying to put barriers in a sculptured map and I still haven't had much luck with tunnelling paths either. Love some help there, as I'd love to make some underground viewing areas for underwater animals.

Check out my wolfe rock map in the workshop to see some inspiration.

The easiest way to tunnel is simply turn on flatten terrain in the path menu. Beyond that it gets into pre-planning and working with barriers to get those viewing areas set up. Liberal use of the keep height even option in barriers is another key to burying those barriers into the terrain.

Thank you, once again, grampers, you are always helpful and encouraging, thanks.

I would love a beautiful sloped/hill terrain but I never do it because I'm always having trouble creating nice looking paths, slopes and stairs.

I wish this game had various ready-made stairs and ramps you can just plunk down and connect to the path. And also elevators.

I would love a map with a river and some vegetation, even a forest. It's just so difficult and time-consuming to create a realistic forest... I'm very bad at this.
Also I would love a city zoo map based on Parc de la Tête d'Or in Lyon, France. I find the setting nice and interesting, but I did not manage to copy it. It looks quite natural for a city park and there's a big lake in the middle, I think it would make a grat city zoo (it does include a city zoo IRL, but it's a small one in just one part of the park).
