Transformer Refuses To Supply Power (Still)
So, this is what I get. As you can see from the screenshot, the transformer IS connected to paths, but it's not powering ANYTHING.

I'm going to try Career mode now to see if the transformers work there or not.

I'm really frustrated.

you cannot place it there on the path, you need to place it like the houses, next to a path
but connected.
it is not connected now.
if you hold z you can rotate it.

I think it's placed fine pathway-wise but it's probably not powering anything because everything is already being powered by the entrance. The entrance of a zoo has its own power source radius and you've placed the transformer too close to it for it to be useful. Use your heat map by pressing H and go to the power setting (looks like a lightning bolt). The blue circles represent the radius of power produced by a power facility. Move the transformer out of the entrance's radius and it will have it's own blue circle. I don't know how big your zoo is yet so I don't know if your transformer will be useful or not.

Would recommend playing the campaign levels to learn the mechanics. You can continue playing in the zoo after the scenario is complete and play the scenario map in challenge and sandbox bode where you don't have to complete the goals but still play in the map. The game is complicated and without the tutorial levels it can be really hard to understand

I agree witz Pizza7. It looks as if you placed the transformer directly ON a path, which is not what we explained yesterday night. Place it NEXT to a path like a building and turn it with Z or Y (depending on your keyboard) until the transformer shows a path which connects with the existing path system.

Huh you may be right. It's hard to tell in the picture but I thought the game wouldn't let you place a facility like that right on a path? Maybe it does I cannot remember but that doesn't explain why the facility is not working. Even if staff cannot reach it, it still functions until it breaks down

I didn't place the path it's connected to, the game did.

At any rate, I'm in career mode now, and I'm having a transformer problem AGAIN. The game wants me to place one, and place it in a specific area. I'm TRYING to, but it REFUSES to align properly. It will only rotate on specific angles, and won't let me align it PROPERLY (so it faces a perpendicular path). It only is allowing me to face the transformer on an angle, and when I click to place it, it says, "Invalid Rotation." HOW am I supposed to align it properly when the GAME is fighting me?!

I'm getting ready to contact Steam and demand my money back. This game is seriously bugged and flawed!

You can rotate by holding down z. Hold it down and rotate mouse

It seems frustrating but if a dumb*ss like me can eventually learn the controls I'm sure you can too. Don't give up, experiment and try new things. A quick google search is also useful. Much quicker than asking here in the forums for everything and you won't get harassed by strangers calling you dumb either. People here can be mean

That's what I am doing, but it only lets me rotate at specific angles. It will NOT let me PROPERLY rotate the transformer so that it PROPERLY FACES the path!!!
MissHap Apr 16, 2022 @ 11:45pm
It shouldn't be doing that it should rotate smoothly. Do you you have the angle setting ticked? There's a setting in the bottom right when you are moving your transformer that says "angle lock" or something like that. Make sure that is not ticked
Satai_Delenn Apr 16, 2022 @ 11:48pm
It's not. It just won't work right. I've tried selecting that, unselecting that, NOTHING works. It rotates at SPECIFIC ANGLES and will NOT rotate FREELY and then yells at me that I'm trying to set it at an invalid angle. Well, what the eff am I supposed to do when it WON"T WORK with me and FREELY ROTATE so I can get it to PROPERLY face the path!?

Well, but somebody in that other thread said it had to be near the entrance, so that's why I placed it there.

I don't know how big my zoo is anymore either. It at one point showed a blue circle thing, but suddenly it's stopped showing that. This game is really infuriating with the LACK of ability to get things to work right!

Oh hold on I know what might be wrong. You need to move the GROUP. Make sure you're not in a group edit mode and are moving the entire group not part of it. Is the transformer the only thing in the group? Click on the transformer and click the button that says select group. When the group is selected, then move it rather than moving it in group edit mode (if that's what you're doing)

I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm in career mode and I'm trying to do what the zookeeper or whatever she is wants me to do, but the game will NOT let me do it! The zookeeper wants me to place ONE transformer. That is what I'm TRYING to do. I'm not trying to MOVE anything. I'm trying to PLACE a stupid transformer!
