Still no fix for Animal food costs bug ??
I stopped playing before last sumer because of that, and after a couple of hours in the game again today, my 2 grey seals are now costing me 3000$ PER FEED, litterally ruining my economy.

Somebody else recently posted a £60,000 food bill per month.

But I am not sure it's a bug.

Is there anything you can do to make the shops more efficient, are you charging 1.25 for toilets? Always a winner!!

I just mean there might be other ways to keep the economy fired up.

don't really think that's a bug.

A single grey seal costs $1,312.65 for tier 1 food, $1,470.15 for tier 2 food and $1,548.9 for tier 3 food

each additional seal adds to that (Juveniles are a bit cheaper to feed)

So two seals at tier 1 food should be costing you $2,625.30 if you have no pups, i assume you rounded up to 3,000 but if not then i dunno

but ultimately, if you want a bug fixed you need to report the bug so that they actually know it exists in the first place and can look into it. THey don't read these forums

every animal you add adds new food costs, for example I have a yearly food bill of $43,167.87 in my zoo, for 165 animals, which has been running for 27 in game years.

I mean then the game is simply broken. You litterally cannot make money when having 2 seals cost you over 2.5K in food. Like it litterally cannot be an animal you have in an early zoo.

I mean I have 2 adult grey seels, 2 pups, and 5 king pinguin in a 4 years old zoo and my food bill is 14k. I just cant.

And this has been reported them a long time ago :/

But it is also true, and completely unwritten, that some animals are more of a challenge than others. All carnivores for example will cost a lot more to feed than herbivores. So it is very very difficult to start a franchise with carnivores. Also, naturally, animals that live in packs or herds will be more challenging because you have to have more of them and this is also very expensive.

How many other habitats do you have? I'm thinking that like the Lions, Tigers and Bears that Seals and Penguins might just be a particularly difficult animal to keep.

I'm not 100% convinced it's a bug, but it might be.

I mean I just checked again, and its when the second baby seal was born than my food cost went from 4-5K to a whooping 14 k. Its not normal.

Maybe this is just an algorithmic math problem. What you said indicates that 1 baby seal is costing 1k to feed. But that might not be the thing..... It might be that 0-4 seals costs 4k and 5-10 seals costs 5k or something like that. You might have 2 or 3 more young before the price changes again. Not sure.

just because it is not a good starting animal does NOT mean the game is broken lol. Elephants cost $3000 food PER elephant. That's for 1 elephant, and they need a herd. So you wouldn't start a zoo with elephants, because it's not financially possible. It does not mean the game's broken just because you can't begin a zoo with it as your starting animal

and the only animal that was born was that one seal? or did your penguins and other exhibits have new babies too?

then submit a bug report with screenshots so they can look into it. I'm not having that happen with my 5 seals (3 adults, 2 pups).

Yep my pinguins prices are as low as they get. 500 per feed, while all the rest is taken by 2 adult and 2 baby seals.

I mean i'll give it to you like this, I got 4 seals and 6 king pinguins, and my food cost is over 14K

And writting to them aint going to change ♥♥♥♥. They are absolutely terrible at fixing their game. Prefer making some overpriced DLC's instead. The food cost problem date back from Before November, when they said they fixed the problem, and since then, I've seen other people having the issue

no idea what to tell you then. ive been playing since beta and have not run into that bug, maybe it's a rarer bug

they've fixed many things, not sure why you say they're terrible at it. submit another bug report, every week or month untill they respond to you, then. Maybe this bug, which i haven't heard about until you posted about it here, has never been reported by anyone

i'm just offering up solutions, because posting it here on steam isn't going to do anything, and it doesn't seem to be a bug that is affecting everyone
Ghurdill Jan 19, 2021 @ 12:58pm
Nah I have posted many many bug report and never got any answer. I was part of the people who got their comments deleted by them under their launch trailer youtube video. They just dont take honest critic the good way. At this point I cant have a neutral or friendly attitude toward a comapny that take their players for living wallets.
