Can you give a few more details.
Crash to desktop or system crash?
What are your computer's specs?
How long have you played before this started happening?

i just bought the game a week ago and i havent been able to play at all because of the crashes
so what happens is i launch the game i get to the main menu and when i try to run a career zoo or franchise zoo it load for a few seconds and then crashes to desktop and asks me if i want to send the logs to the supp
i have a pretty good pc

i managed to run a franchise zoo for about 10 min before it crashed and didnt save my progress

Yeah, you should have no trouble running it.
Begin by verifying game files through steam library and test for play.
Next, confirm your system drivers are all up to date. Including chipset and graphics drivers as well as running windows update.

ive verified game files and everything seems to be good
i also updated my graphic drivers and still the game crashes

Okay, Windows is up to date as well?
There are a couple other things that typically can cause this. Is your computer overclocked? Planet Zoo tends to not like overclocked systems.
You might also need to update your bios for that processor.

You might also want to run PZ as administrator.

windows is at the latest version and i do not use any overclock programs
i tried running as admin and still no luck.
i do not know what does it mean to update the bios though

Okay, That's the normal things that cause ctd in planet zoo.
A couple other things to check. Is geforce experience installed on that computer? If yes be sure that it is the latest version and is up to date. While in geforce allow it to configure Planet Zoo.
Be sure that your main drive on that computer has plenty of free space for the windows swap file.
These normally cause other issues but worth checking them.
Then open windows settings and select apps/installed apps.
when there check all microsoft visual c++ redistibutable for update or repair. Also check .net items for update repair.
Beyond these things it would be difficult to figure out the issue without being at that computer to search for issues.

unfortunately those still didnt work
i have geforce experience and i use the recommended settings
also there is approx 1.5 terra of empty space on the same drive
i checked the c++ apps and repair both of them, though i didnt find any .net apps to update or repair.
and still nothing works, its so annoying i spent like 50$ for this game and i cant even play it

do you know if their support ever answers or am i just stuck on this forever?
grampers62 Sep 19, 2024 @ 2:08pm
It seems that their support is terribly slow in responding quite often. Open steam and see if steam common redistributables has an update or repair. Also go to the manufacturer's website and see if there are downloads for the computer.
Sounds like you might be missing a few needed files...

Hi, I had the same problem as you. I chose the lowest graphics settings and the game worked. A few months ago I already completed all the scenarios in this game with high settings. Yesterday I decided to play again and got this problem. I guess it's all about the update. Nothing has changed in my computer configuration in these few months.

I just did an experiment and saw what the issue was. You can try setting all graphic settings to high and only changing texture resolution to low. I hope this helps you.

Often times crashing of planet zoo is directly related to out of memory errors. SO it is conceivable that reducing texture resolution will stop the crashing. Reducing screen resolution can have similar boosts. Especially on computers with integrated graphics.
