you might've pressed T on accident, which makes wasd much slower which i guess is more helpful if you need more precise motion

and to answer the other question, wasd is just the w, a, s, and d keys that are used like the arrow buttons in games to move around

Also, you can adjust that speed in the settings. I always have to turn it up.

There's a red button on top of my mouse that changes cursor speed, but in Windows there's a tool you can use to fiddle with mouse settings.
