how do i make fences run parallel to paths?
I place it and looks like its right. But when I keep building down path I discover that its not lined up correctly and overlaps path. So things dont line up properly.

you build path after building the habitat, there is an option something like snap to the habitat under the path options

It kind of depends on the situation. I tend to use the null barrier to get things aligned as it can show more clearly where it meets the path. The longer the the path the better and if you can do it use the 20 meter barrier length. Don't want to use the null barrier? Well from that one can use a little math and 90 degree snap to get the barrier that elusive one meter from the path so that it can be switched to any type of barrier.
If one created the path system using angle snap it then becomes easy to follow the paths with the barrier angle snap set to match what was used for the path angle snap.

I use grid snap to set my paths. But there is no option similar for habitat. I had been hoping I had missed a option that would help but looks like in end its just trial and error.

How about using the null barrier and build custom fences? These can be aligend very precise or even build with grid pieces.

Don't worry about the climbing thing. It can be disabled for all pieces. Maybe that wasn't the case when this video was done.

Thank you for the video. I will give it a shot. Half way through video and its just making the custom fences which is very cool. But not showing how to align just yet.

If you've build your path on a 4 meter grid, starting with a grid piece (entrance or shop maybe) you can use the same grid for your fences (with grid pieces).
If not, you have to move them with the advanced control (X).
But this can be done very precise so it looks like it's build on the same grid.

I also think custom fences can look really nice. Be creative! :)
There is even a one way glas you can use if your animal are shy.

Oh so dont build habitat first.. build some thing that connect to grid and use that as marker for fence.. now that is idea.

And ya i like the idea of custom fences once i can line stuff up.
