was this game for fun or learning tool?
This is not Planet Coaster for sure. You have to know so much about animals. I wanted to play, but seems much more management rather than watching a zoo grow? Am I missing something. Not having fun like a game?

There is a lot of depth to this game but it can be as deep or as shallow as one wants. All depends on what a person wants to do. I find it a fun game and I also enjoy Planet Coaster. :)

what you can do is download complete zoos from others and walk around.
it is a building a zoo game, you do need to like building to like this game.

Interesting question... It can be educational if one reads the many facts for animals in the various places. And one does get to see some animal behaviours while in game.
Is it a true zoo sim? Well yes and no. There are many aspects that try to simulate life in a zoo but the management and life cycles are altered to fit within a playable game environment.
Learning to play can be easy and difficult all in the same session. I usually suggest players begin with the career scenarios. These are more tutorial at the beginning and more free build as they get to the end. The first few are very scripted and players need to do things as prompted and when prompted. A lot is learned here as we progress through the career as players are exposed to different situations where various zoo issues are given for the player to sort out.
If you want less challenge and mostly free build what you want play sandbox. Most of the management and guest needs can be disabled there allowing one to build without worrying about managing the zoo. Just open the sandbox settings on the upper right of the screen to access all that.

You don't watch it grow, you make it grow. It is a zoo sim, more than a game. But with all the options that can be turned off in the sandbox it can be less of a hassle. But it is still educational with it's own inbuilt encyclopedia to pick species from.
