Is it possible to collect all ecological animals in a zoo in this game?

I tried starting in both franchise mode and sandbox mode, but it seems I can only choose one ecosystem. For example, if I select animals from the temperate zone, does that mean I won't be able to acquire animals from the tropical zone later on? I want to build a zoo where I can acquire animals from all ecosystems. Is that possible? If not, then doesn't that make the DLCs I bought meaningless?

You may place any animals in your zoo. The only issue with the starting map is the temperature/weather of that map (or the weather conditions you pick if in sandbox.) For example, if you use a tundra map which gives cold and snow, you would need to place heaters for those animals that like it warmer and vice versa. Additionally, if you use cold animals in a desert map, you can place coolers which will give you snow on the ground and you can paint the rocks and buildings with terrain to get a snowy look but the trees and bushes will not have snow on them. Just extra info for you. Another thing is the paint- for example, animals do not care about the color of the paint but a tropical habitat on a desert map will not have tropical grass color. Same for rocks.

You can. You just have to meet the animals needs.

You can only pick one ecosystem, because they are areas of the world. But as said above, you can create ecosystems to suit animals from anywhere, within the habitats. Or in the sandbox turn off animals' need for heat and or cold, if you want. I do.

No, the market is not driven by the biome of one's zoo. The market can be a bit finicky when it comes to finding the species one desires and frequent rechecking for the species should come up with something. Some players find the need to reset the search by clicking clear all filters even if they have not selected any filters.
