What are the best DLCs to get?
Now that Planet Zoo is on sale I wonder which Edition is the best to get? Just the standard edition or the premium edition? Maybe even the Planet Zoo: Ultimate Edition? 95 € is still pretty expensive.

You don't NEED any DLC. Get the base game and DLC for the animals you like to play with. In this game the DLC is truly optional. From what I gathered in my short play-time, you can get all achievements without buying any DLC, if that matters to you.

You just can't subscribe to any workshop items that include pieces from DLC that you don't own, or use enrichment items from species you don't have. Learned that last lesson the hard way! It caused the game to go crazy when I uninstalled a DLC with the enrichment item that I had put in place before I uninstalled the DLC. I thought I didn't have enough room on my old PC for it. When I reinstalled the DLC, it was fine again.
So, basically, decide what pieces/animals you want, then buy DLC as you need them. My 2 cents worth? I love the animals in the twilight pack! Skunks! :Skunk:

All the dlc is on sale now! I tend to be a builder in planet zoo so I find I use the Europe pack, twilight pack, aquatic pack and conservation pack the most. If that's helpful for you. I would suggest that you read the details on each dlc to see what seems better for you though.

I mean, what do you want them for? It's kinda hard to say because it really depends on what kind of player you are. As a biologist, I freaking love animals, so I get them all simply to have all animal options in the game. However, you could take a look at each and decide which do you prefer based on the animals you like the most and would like to build habitats for the most (for example, I like building habitats for felines, primates, ungulates, and tiny animals, and prefer exhibitions with amphibians and reptiles). Or maybe you prefer building, in which case you should search online for which packs have the better pieces for building, there are plenty of videos in YouTube ranking them according to the creators' needs.

Another great way to decide is simply look at the workshop and see what the builds you like have in them in the way of dlc.

The DLCs add more animals. There are a lot already in the base game, but there's nowt like a bit of variety. If you like building things, each DLC adds more parts. In fact the DLCs add all manner of things. And they are very inexpensive DLCs.

I would get the one that includes everything.
