Can't Start Up Game

I turned on my computer this morning in preparation to play the new DLC. I bought it and am now in a constant state of validating the game files. I have cleared the cache, tried validating the game files with no issues but nothing is changing. I have put in a support ticket with Steam specifically with no answers yet. Wasn't having this issue yesterday when playing. Only change is that the DLC was released today. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was avoiding this but I ended up uninstalling the game and reinstalling it and it fixed the loop issue.

have you managed to access the game now with the new DLC? i brought it as soon as it was available, but have not been able to access the game as it wouldnt wouldnt load. am now uninstalled and waiting for it to reinstall. fingers crossed

thats further than i have managed. i click the start and thats as far as it gets before wanting me to click start again. 40 mins left of reinstalling. really not impressed at the moment. with well over 3000 hour playing this game. i have been looking forward to this DLC more than any of the others.

yeah, it verifies about 10% before it stops and starts verifing again and again and again

I'm seeing no issues so I can't do much more than speculate that something went wrong during the update. If verifying files fails then something is causing that that we don't know about yet.
Were there mods from places like nexus installed? If yes, those mods and their support files should be removed and the files verified.

didnt have mods. once i installed the whole game again its all worked fine

I am having the issue where when it gets to the powered by Cobra screen (minute or 2) getting the popup crash message. I have verified files and uninstall/reinstall the game. I have sent a report to Frontier. I am waiting for any information.

I did end up being able to play it. I had to uninstall it completely and then reinstall and it worked just fine.

I went onto my Steam Library. On the left side where all of your games are listed, I found Planet Zoo, right clicked on it and there was an uninstall option. When you click that it'll uninstall the game. Then I just restarted my computer for good measure, then went onto my list and clicked to install it.

Having troubles loading might be helped by this. Assuming one has verified files and confirmed their system exceeds minimum spec.

Open steam library then right click on planet zoo and select properties. In the window that opens at the bottom type -watchdog 0 in the box labeled launch options.
This is less often the issue but it will do no harm if one does add that.
Also clearing the steam cache can help many players that are having slow or failed game launches.

Well after talking with an agent by emails, I was informed my computer does not meet the minimum requirements even if I was able to play the game and all DLC's before the free update 1.17 and the Barnyard Animal Pack.

Adding -watchdog 0 to the launch options solved my issue.

What exactly does -watchdog 0 do?
